TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Retail sales fell 7.1 pct year-on-year in
October after declining by a revised 0.7 pct in September, the Ministry
of Economy, Trade and Industry said.
The ministry provided the following October year-on-year data:
Department store sales - down 2.5 pct
Supermarket sales - down 10.7 pct
Food and beverage sales - down 4.3 pct
Clothing sales - down 8.4 pct
Others - down 9.4 pct
