TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Bank lending in October fell 4.1 pct year-on-year after falling 4.2 pct in the previous month, the Bank of Japan said.
It provided the following year-on-year breakdown of lending in April, compared with the previous month:
City banks - down 4.7 pct vs fall 4.4
Trust banks - down 6.2 pct vs fall 6.2
Long-term credit banks - down 7.9 pct vs fall 8.5
Regional banks - down 0.8 pct vs revised fall 1.2
Second-tier regional banks - down 6.9 pct vs fall 7.2
Foreign banks - down 7.5 pct vs down 6.6
